The Serb world number three will await an opponent from Andy Murray and Nikolay Davydenko.

The Scot was hoping for a recovery after spending three hours of drama in defeating Roger Federer 24 hours earlier while Davydenko was relatively rested for his bid at a first year-end final.

Having beaten the Swiss superstar for the third time this year Murray was quoted by The Sun as saying: “It was a great match, probably one of the best I’ve ever been involved in. A win against Federer in a match like that is similar to winning the Masters Cup itself.”

“Psychologically, a win like that is going to be huge for me next time I play him — especially in big matches,” he added.

The students "apparently panicked amid flames and thick smoke" after the fire broke out in their shared room at the Shanghai Business School, the official Xinhua news agency quoted local police as saying.

The two local women and two women from neighbouring provinces all died immediately upon hitting the ground, the agency said.
