No limit for expanding Iran-Iraq ties, says Ahmadinejad Tehran  - Iran sees no limits in expanding its ties with neighbouring Iraq, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told his Iraqi counterpart Jalal Talabani at the Iran-Iraq summit in Tehran on Friday.

"We will grant Iraq all our experiences in all relevant fields and from our side, there is no limit for expanding cooperation with our friends and brothers in Iraq," Ahmadinejad told Talabani in their first round of talks.

US army: US soldier killed in attack in Baghdad

US army: US soldier killed in attack in BaghdadBaghdad - A US soldier was killed in an armed attack in Baghdad, the US army said on Friday. The attack took place Thursday.

"A Multi-National Division-Baghdad soldier died Feb. 26 from combat related injuries while conducting a patrol in Baghdad," the army statement said.

The death raised the number of US fatalities in February 2009 to 15, and brings the number of US soldiers who have been killed in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March
2003 to 4,252.

Obama told top leaders in Congress on Thursday that he will end combat operations in Iraq on August 31, 2010, putting a halt to all US-led counterinsurgency efforts and transitioning the mission in Iraq to training, advising and engaging in limited counter-terrorist operations, FOX News quoted congressional sources, as saying.

British Foreign Minister arrives in Iraq for talks with officials

Iraq MapBaghdad- British Foreign Minister David Miliband arrived in Baghdad on Thursday for talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and other Iraqi officials as Britain's military prepares to withdraw completely from Iraq.

A source in the Iraqi government, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that Miliband is to discuss the withdrawal of British troops from Iraq, the training and logistics that these troops perform, as well as rebuilding initiatives.

EU struggles to find homes for 5,000 Iraqi refugees

Iraqi RefugeesBrussels - European Union interior ministers Thursday discussed how to make up for a 5,000-shortfall in the number of Iraqi refugees that they have pledged to host in Europe this year.

In November, ministers agreed to re-settle up to 10,000 vulnerable Iraqis currently living in camps in Syria and Jordan.

But so far, a total of just 5,000 offers have been made by the EU's 27 member states, with Germany making the greatest single pledge - 2,500.
