New Delhi, Nov. 27: There are at least 36 organizations listed as terrorist groups by the Government of India who are creating an environment of terror in different parts of the country.
In north-India, the terrorist list includes Babbar Khalsa, Bhindranwala Tigers Force of Khalistan, Communist Party of India (Maoist), Dashmesh Regiment, International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF), Kamagata Maru Dal of Khalistan, Khalistan Armed Force, Khalistan Liberation Force, Khalistan Commando Force, Khalistan Liberation Army, Khalistan Liberation Front, Khalistan Liberation Organisation, Khalistan National Army, Khalistan Guerilla Force, Khalistan Security Force, Khalistan Zindabad Force, Shaheed Khalsa Force.
Sydney - A leader of Australia's 300,000 Muslims on Thursday said terrorist attacks in the Indian city of Mumbai were "abhorrent, despicable and outrageous."
"Attacks against innocent persons are abhorrent to all peaceful people and to all faiths and those who engage in this behaviour stand condemned," Australian Federation of Islamic Councils president Ikebal Adam Patel said in a statement.
"People of goodwill and faith must double their efforts and resources to fight against such acts of barbarism and inhumanity."
Colombo - Sri Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapaksa Thursday condemned the terrorist attacks in Mumbai that killed at least 101 people and called for a concerted action to eradicate terrorism.
"These unfortunate attacks bring into focus the urgent need for concerted action by all countries to eradicate the menace of terrorism, wherever it is, and whoever the leaders and manipulators of such violence may be," President Rajapaksa said in a statement.
Nairobi/Kinshasa - The Congolese government has said that it does not want Indian peacekeepers to be among the 3,000 troops the United Nations has agreed to send to help stop fighting in the east of the sprawling Central African nation.
"There are already enough Indian troops in Congo, and the UN reinforcements should come from other countries," government spokesman Lambert Mende told the BBC on Wednesday evening.
Around a quarter of the 17,000 peacekeeping troops in the Democratic Republic of Congo are Indian.
Brussels - The European Union strongly condemns the Mumbai terrorist attacks that killed 101 people on Wednesday, officials in the bloc's Brussels headquarters said.
The European Commission, the EU's executive, "condemns in the strongest terms the heinous terrorist attacks this night in Mumbai which have cost the lives of many innocent people and injured others," a statement released overnight said.
