Baghdad, Nov 12 : Analysts in Iraq have said that Al-Qaeda jihadists were weakened but may regain influence in the country, especially if integration of the anti-Qaeda ‘Sahwa forces’ into Iraq''s security structure proves to be unsuccessful.
The recently begun process of transferring supervision of the Sahwa (Awakening) groups from the US military to the Iraqi government is the key issue, according to Mohammed al-Masri, of the University of Jordan Centre for Strategic Studies.
Baghdad - In a continuation of the string of bombings that have rocked Iraq since the beginning of the week, three people were killed and more than 40 civilians were wounded on Tuesday.
The Iraqi capital, Baghdad, was the scene of three bomb attacks, that left three dead and 23 injured.
A bomb went off near a vehicle that belonged to the Iraqi Electricity Ministry near the al-Khayyam building in al-Khillani square injuring six people, the Voices of Iraq (VOI) news agency reported.
Baghdad - Iraq on Tuesday expressed its dissatisfaction with the US reply to amendments of the security agreement that will regulate the future of US forces in Iraq, according to an Iraqi government spokesperson.
Ali al-Dabbagh said that the US reply to the amendments "is not satisfactory" and that "Iraqis are not going to accept" it.
"The US reply to the Iraqi amendments is not satisfactory and there are many points that still need clarification and amendment," al-Dabbagh said in an interview with the London-based Asharq al-Awsat newspaper.

Security officers in Baghdad recounted the deadliest bomb blast which rocked the Iraqi capital Monday, killing 28 people, including women and schoolgirls, and leaving dozens wounded.
According to witnesses, Monday’s attack took place on Kassra Street, a road lined with restaurants and tea shops popular for breakfast with Iraqi security forces, as a bus carrying young school girls drove past.
