'Recovering' Afridi hopeful of playing in World T20

Shahid-AfridiKarachi, Mar 16 : Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi is hopeful of playing in the World Twenty20 that kicks off in Bangladesh and has reportedly started training following his recovery from a groin injury.

Afridi, who suffered fitness problems in the Asia cup last week, has said that he is feeling much better as he trained for the first time since the injury and is feeling 'very good'.

Afridi has also said that he would do his best to help Pakistan win the Twenty20 title 'again' adding that this shortest format of cricket is such that one cannot predict who would win the title, but gave reassurances that Pakistan team would do its best to win it 'once more', The Dawn reported.

Afridi was player of the match in the semi-final and final when Pakistan won its only World Twenty20 title in England in 2009, the report added.

The fifth edition of the World Twenty20 with 16 teams in competition starts in Bangladesh with the much-awaited India-Pakistan match to take place on March 21, the report added. (ANI)
