Rahul Gandhi interacts with Jharkhand tribal women, pitches for minorities

Rahul-GandhiRanchi (Jharkhand), Feb 7 : Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Friday interacted with tribal women in Ranchi, Jharkhand, and said the party would like to support minorities in their battle and help them grow.

Gandhi was on a visit to Jharkhand to interact with tribal women party workers as a part of his nationwide tour ahead of the parliamentary elections in April.

During the interaction, Gandhi talked to the women party workers about their complaints and suggestions on various issues like governance, education and employment opportunities.

While addressing the gathering, Gandhi said the Congress party wants to be a part of minorities' battle.

"I would like to stand with you and I would like to be a part of your fight and we want to help you grow," he said.

Gandhi was also supposed to undertake a road show from Hazaribagh to Ranchi, but it was cancelled for security reasons.

Further addressing the answers of the tribal women, Gandhi said they need to pressurise the government to claim their rights.

"We have to pressurise the government and help the local bodies in getting whatever the rights they have to get," he added.

Earlier, Gandhi had vowed to uplift the condition of country's 700 million labourers, promising them a better life if the Congress party is given an opportunity to form the government after the general elections. (ANI)
