Que Electronic Reader Unveiled by Plastic Logic

On Thursday, Plastic Logic showcased its eagerly awaited Que electronic reader, while also announcing that the device, posed to give a tough competition to Amazon's Kindle DX, will be available for purchase starting mid-April this year.

The Que has been especially designed for business professionals, and boasts a 10.7 inch diagonal display, which is an inch larger than the Kindle DX. The gadget can also display documents on Adobe PDF format, in addition to those in Microsoft Office format. The DX cannot take care of the latter, but then again, Plastic Logic has priced the Que much higher.

The Que with a 4GB storage space will cost $649, and will support Wi-Fi alone. For users who also want access to AT&T's 3G broadband network to download books, newspapers and magazines, from the online Que store, will have to shell out $799.

The Kindle DX is for $489, and comes inclusive of both the 3G connection and 4GB of space. No Wi-Fi support, however, is present.

The product was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
