Pfizer Reveals a Net Profit of Rs 41.24 CroreAccording to reports, the drug firm Pfizer has revealed a net profit of Rs 41.24, for the quarter, which ended on the 30th of June, 2011. The company had a net profit of 34.69 crore for the quarter which ended on the 31st of May, the previous year.

Also, the net sales of the company for the quarter that ended on the 30th of June 2011 is at Rs 241.87 crore, which was Rs 212.33 crore for the quarter ended May 31, 2010.

Pfizer stated: “The results are not comparable as the current quarter is from April 1, 2011 to June 30, 2011 while the previous quarter was from March 1, 2010 to May 31, 2010”.

However, the company reported that it had switched its accounting year from the 1st of December- the 30th of November 30 to the 1st of April – the 31st of March, effective from the 31st of December 2009.

Moreover, the shares of Pfizer traded at Rs 1,535.80 in the afternoon trade on BSE, surging 0.02% from its last close, and net sales has risen from Rs 2,123.3 million for the quarter ended on the 31st of May , 2010 to Rs 2,418.7 million for the quarter that ended on the 30th of June 2011, which is a 13.91% increase.
