New Delhi [India], Feb 22 : Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on Wednesday announced the integration of Skype and Aadhaar to launch the 'Skype Lite' for low speed mobile internet connections, which will be supported by Aadhaar and will enable technology that can empower people and organisations.

At a keynote address on day two of Future Decoded event, Nadella said that one can chat with 'Aadhaar Verified' users on both the regular Skype app and the new Skype Lite app while interacting for job interviews, government services and other services.

"Your next Skype Job interview might need Aadhaar verification. You can soon enter your Aadhaar number over Skype to verify yourself for an interview. The service can be extended for government services as well," said Nadella.

New Delhi [India], Feb 20 : Microsoft on Monday announced its strategic partnership with Flipkart to provide consumers in India with the best online shopping service.

As a first step in the broad collaboration between the two companies, Flipkart will adopt Microsoft Azure as its exclusive public cloud platform.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Flipkart Group CEO Binny Bansal announced the news today at an event in Bangalore.

"At Microsoft, we aim to empower every Indian and every Indian organization with technology and key to this is forging strategic partnerships with innovative companies like Flipkart," said CEO Microsoft, Satya Nadella.

New Delhi [India], Feb 20 : India-born chief executive of Microsoft Satya Nadella on Monday said that the company is very excited about the potential of augmented reality along with Microsoft's Cortana's AI offering, which has the capability to do human-level speech recognition.

While speaking at an event in Bangalore here today, the Microsoft chief said "Storage network is fuelling Artificial Intelligence revolution. We are excited about Microsoft Cortana's AI offering that has the capability to do human-level speech recognition."

Nadella, who will engage with India's digital transformation journey with Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, is also keen to pitch Microsoft's Azure cloud platform to users.

Tech leaders optimistic about digital economy

This was Nadella's second courtesy call to Prime Minister Modi. He had met Prime Minister earlier during his first trip to India after taking charge as the CEO of the top software company.

Earlier in the day, Nadella met Union Minister for Communications and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad where he reportedly expressed the US technology giant's interest in partnering with the 'Digital India' and 'Make- in- India' initiatives of the government. (ANI)
