Lahore, Apr. 25 : US Special Representative on Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke has said there is no evidence that India is supporting violence in Pakistan.

"If the Indians were supporting those miscreants in Pakistan that would be extraordinarily bad, really dangerous, but they are not doing so. There is no evidence that Indians are support miscreants in western parts of Pakistan or in Balochistan," the Daily Times quoted Holbrooke as saying in an interview with a private TV channel.

Lahore, Apr. 20 : The US Special Envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke has said that there is an increased risk of Islamabad being affected by the Swat deal inked between the Taliban and the government of Pakistan.

"You cannot deal with these people by giving away territory. They are now getting closer and closer to Islamabad and Punjab," Holbrooke said.

Washington, Apr. 12 : The US Special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke, has said that the western tribal areas of Pakistan, the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) were the root cause of Afghanistan's instability.

Holbrooke said the region was a safe haven for extremists, and if destroyed, peace could return to Afghanistan in a relatively short period of time.

Washington, Apr. 11 : The US Special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke, has said that peace and stability can never return to Afghanistan until Pakistan is stabilized and comes out of the current precarious condition.

Holbrooke said that Pakistan was at the center of America's strategic concerns.

New Delhi, Apr. 8 : US President Barack Obama's special envoy Richard Holbrooke has sought Indian involvement and views to support Washington''s new regional strategy for Afghanistan and Pakistan.

"We never really had sufficient talks with India about regional and global strategic issues and that was the missing factor. That''s why Admiral Mullen and I have come here to accelerate today. We can't solve issue like Afghanistan and many other issues without India''s full involvement and thereon expressions of views," Holbrooke told reporters in New Delhi.

New Delhi, Apr 8 : President Barack Obama''s Special Envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan, Richard Holbrooke, clarified on Wednesday that he would not press India for resuming peace talks with Pakistan.

Addressing a joint press briefing in New Delhi with Admiral Mike Mullen, the Chairman of the U. S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, Holbrooke said, "We did not come here to ask India to do anything."
