No compromise on principles: Nawaz Sharif tells ex-Pak Punjab Governor

Nawaz SharifIslamabad, Sept. 2: Former Pakistan Prime Minister and chief of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif, has told the former Governor Punjab Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar that his party would not compromise on its principled stand.

According to the sources, Sharif said the nation had given the PML-N a mandate in the February 18 elections to restore the deposed judges and undo Musharraf's extra-constitutional steps.

Sharif also said that he pulled out his party from the ruling coalition because pledges and agreements were not honoured.

He added that he won’t make any efforts in destabalising the government.

The government will collapse much before completing its tenure if its leaders continue their policies of breaking promises and ignoring public issues, the Gulf News quoted him as saying in an interview.

Nawaz Sharif says no compromise on restoration of judges

PML-N leader Nawaz SharifIslamabad, Aug 29: PML-N leader and former Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif has said that there could be no compromise over the reinstatement of all judges, including deposed chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry. He said that the reinstatement of all judges was agreed upon between the PPP and PML-N and that it was a “solemn pledge” to each other.

In an interview with an Indian English fortnightly news tabloid, he said that even slain PPP leader Benazir Bhutto had also agreed to restoration of Iftikhar Chaudhry as the country’s chief justice.

Zardari, Sharif talk about presidential polls, government rejoining

In a telephonic interview with a US weekly, Nawaz said that if a patch up had been done between the PPP and his party, then a PML-N-PML-Q alliance was also possible. PML-Q, often referred to as the King’s Party, supports former Pervez Musharraf.
