Sharif charges Bush, Musharraf for promoting terrorism in PakistanLahore, Apr. 2 : Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has charged former US President George W. Bush and his then Pakistan counterpart General Pervez Musharraf of promoting terrorism in the region.

Sharif said Bush's wrong policies for the region were aptly supported by Musharraf which has resulted in the present day scenario where Pakistan is facing dangerous threat from rising extremism.

Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif held an important meeting with Gilani here on Wednesday.

It has been reliably learnt that Gilani invited the Pakistan Muslim League-N to rejoin the federal cabinet.

Pakistani court stays ban on Sharif, restores regional government Islamabad - Pakistan's Supreme Court on Tuesday suspended its ban on opposition leader Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif from holding public office.

The reprieve came a day after President Asif Ali Zardari ended federal rule in the eastern province of Punjab, which was ruled by the Nawaz faction of the Pakistan Muslim League party, with Shahbaz as chief minister.

Shahbaz had to leave his office following the ban.

Zardari agreed to restore the deposed judiciary in Pakistan, and has now he has accepted a proposal to lift the Governor’s Rule in Punjab.

In an interview to the Wall Street Journal, Sharif said the reconciliation process allows them to work together with the government.

Asif Ali Zardar, Nawaz SharifLahore, Mar 29 : PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif today welcomed President Asif Ali Zardar’s address to the joint sitting of the Parliament, saying that it will strengthen democracy in Pakistan.

“We welcome the reconciliation policy of President Zardari, as the harmony among the political parties would strengthen democracy,” Sharif said.

He said if the Charter of Democracy (CoD) is implemented, then extending hands of friendship towards Zardari was not an issue.
