Mohammad HafeezKarachi: Lahore Lions skipper Mohammad Hafeez has described their tour of India for Champions League twenty20 tournament as a great learning curve for the players and Pakistan cricket.

"We are not in India just to play cricket, we want to go back by impressing the Indian people with our attitude, behaviour and cricket. There is a lot of demand for our players and Pakistan cricket in India and we don't want to spoil that image," Hafeez said on Geo Super channel during a telephonic talk from Hyderabad Deccan.

Mohammad-HafeezRaipur - Lahore Lions skipper Mohammad Hafeez blamed his bowlers for his team's crushing 72-run defeat against Northern Knights in their second qualifying match of the Champions League Twenty20 here on Saturday.

"The decision of electing to field was right because the pitch was helping the seamers. We didn't bowl well. We as a team didn't bowl well, didn't field well and I think their partnership for fourth wicket (between DR Flynn and DJ Watling) took the game away from us," Hafeez said in the post-match press conference at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium.

Mohammad-HafeezKarachi, Mar 16 : Pakistani Twenty20 captain Mohammad Hafeez has insisted that his team would not get 'swayed by emotion' ahead of their clash with archrivals India in the World Twenty20 at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

Hafeez believes that Pakistan cannot afford to get distracted by their rivalry against India if they are to replicate their 2009 triumph from a group also containing defending champions West Indies and tournament favourite Australia.

Irfan's impact would be missed in T20 World Cup: Hafeez

Mohammad HafeezIslamabad, FebĀ  20 : Pakistan Twenty20 captain Mohammad Hafeez has said that his team will miss towering pacer Mohammad Irfan in the T20 World Cup as the fast bowler has not recovered from a hip injury.

According to Sport24, Hafeez said the team would miss the pacer's impact as his first two overs could be lethal.

However, Hafeez feels that fast bowler Umar Gul and left-arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar are good replacements for Irfan. He also backed the selector's decision to include wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik in the team.

mohammad-hafeezLahore, Feb 27 : Former chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ijaz Butt, has said that appointing Hafeez as T20 captain, and bringing in Dav Whatmore as head coach in place of Mohsin Khan despite the latter''s tremendous contribution, has "backfired quite badly".

The Dawn quoted Butt, as saying that the national team''s 0-3 drubbing at the hands of South Africa in the three-Test series has posed serious questions about the captaincy, adding that it indicated that their confidence level has gone down considerably which could harm the team spirit in days to come.
