Speaking at an innovatively packaged 'Bharat Ko Maano' session at the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Gandhinagar, Dr. Harsh Vardhan said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is particularly keen on institutionalizing linkages between resident Indians and the diaspora to promote exchange of ideas.

October 10 to be designated National Mental Health Day

Harsh-vardhanNew Delhi, Aug 8 : Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan on Friday assured that there is no need to panic about the Ebola Virus which has become an epidemic in many African nations.

Concerns over the spread of this disease escalated when reports of three Indians being detained New Delhi came to light.

The trio had flown in from Ghana with an Ebola infected person on board.

"It is a normal precautionary measure to track any person traveling to the country from the affected areas. There is no cause for worry, no need to panic," said Dr. Vardhan.

Harsh Vardhan requests CMs for action on AIIMS projects

Harsh VardhanNew Delhi, June 1 - Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan, has decided to request the chief ministers of all states for their cooperation to set up super-speciality hospitals modelled on All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in their states.

In the first phase, six AIIMS have come up at Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh. They have all begun partial operations in giving tertiary health care as well as quality under-graduate and post-graduate medical education.

Harsh VardhanNew Delhi, May 29 : Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan will flag off rally of 200 school children from Nirman Bhavan tomorrow to commemorate 'World No Tobacco Day'.

The children will proceed to India Gate where they will be served refreshments.

This is part of the activities being taken up by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with the WHO to mark the 'World No Tobacco Day' to draw attention to the health risks associated with tobacco use and to advocate policies that can help reduce tobacco related health risks.

Harsh Vardhan new Delhi BJP chief

Harsh-VardhanNew Delhi, Feb 19 : BJP leader Harsh Vardhan was Tuesday appointed chief of the party's Delhi unit, replacing Vijay Goel.

The appointment was made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh, after he accepted the resignation of Goel, who was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan.

"Party president Rajnath Singh has appointed senior leader Harsh Vardhan as president of Delhi BJP with immediate effect," a party statement said.

Harsh Vardhan was the party's chief ministerial candidate in the Delhi polls and headed the BJP in the assembly.(IANS)

AAP making 'drama' of people's mandate: BJP

Harsh-VardhanNew Delhi, Dec 18 : BJP leader Harsh Vardhan Wednesday described the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) decision to seek public opinion on government formation in Delhi as a "drama".

"AAP is engaging in a drama and misleading people. They are unnecessarily delaying government formation in Delhi. They could have made their stand clear," Harsh Vardhan said at a press conference.

The Bharatiya Janata Party leader, who was its chief ministerial aspirant, said the AAP was playing with people's mandate by again going to the public vis-a-vis government formation.
