Arvind-KejriwalNew Delhi, Dec 27 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal Friday said everyone was welcome to the Ramlila Maidan here Saturday when he takes oath as Delhi's chief minister.

Kejriwal and six cabinet ministers will be sworn in at the head of a minority government.

"Many people (are) asking me for passes for tomorrow's oath ceremony. No passes needed. All are welcome. It's (your) programme," he tweeted. "My family will also sit (among the) public."(IANS)

Arvind-KejriwalGhaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 25 : Describing the menace of corruption as a very big issue for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Delhi chief minister designate Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday that his minority government, which is being given outside support by the Congress, is determined to introduce and pass a Jan Lokpal Bill in the next 15 days.

Kejriwal meets Delhi chief secretary

Arvind-KejriwalGhaziabad/New Delhi, Dec 24 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal, who will be Delhi's chief minister, Tuesday met the national capital's chief secretary to discuss government formation, party sources said.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia, who is likely to be given a key ministry, was also present.

According to party sources, Kejriwal invited Delhi Chief Secretary D. M. Spolia to his Vaishali residence.

"Among other things, Kejriwal wanted to discuss with the chief secretary the financial health of the government," a party source told IANS.

Kejriwal turns down security cover

Arvind-KejriwalNew Delhi, Dec 23 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal, who is tipped to be the chief minister of Delhi, Monday turned down the security cover offered to him, a police officer said.

"We went to the Constitution Club where Arvind Kejriwal was attending a meeting with party MLAs (legislators) and offered him the security cover provided to a chief minister, but he denied it," said a police officer.

Kejriwal later left the venue in his private car.

The officer said the chief minister is given an official Ambassador car and a pilot vehicle as per the protocol.(IANS)

AAP to form govt. in Delhi, Kejriwal to be new Chief Minister

Arvind-KejriwalNew Delhi, Dec 23 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said that the party has decided to form the government in Delhi with Congress' support.

"We have got overwhelming participation of people during the public meetings. About 80 percent of them have favoured that party should form the government," Kejriwal told media here.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that out of 280 jan sabhas conducted by the party, in 257 sabhas, people wanted the party to form the government in Delhi.

Harsh-VardhanNew Delhi, Dec 18 : BJP leader Harsh Vardhan Wednesday described the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) decision to seek public opinion on government formation in Delhi as a "drama".

"AAP is engaging in a drama and misleading people. They are unnecessarily delaying government formation in Delhi. They could have made their stand clear," Harsh Vardhan said at a press conference.

The Bharatiya Janata Party leader, who was its chief ministerial aspirant, said the AAP was playing with people's mandate by again going to the public vis-a-vis government formation.

Arvind-KejriwalNew Delhi, Dec 17 : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday said it will take the views of the people of the city from today till Sunday, and ask them for their reactions to forming a government with the Congress Party. Addressing media here, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said that being a people's party, they would carry out a referendum among the people of the city, and decide what to do next.

"We have written a letter for Delhiites now. 25 lakh copies will be made and distributed across the city to seek the people's feedback. People can phone in, send a text message, or leave a message on the AAP Facebook page," he added.

"This Lokpal Bill does not provide for formation of Lokayuktas, there is no provision for whistle-blower protection, and it is not free of the government," AAP member Prashant Bhushan told reporters here at the Constitution Club.

On late Friday evening, the Congress, in a letter written to Najeeb Jung, offered outside and unconditional support for the AAP to form the next government.

The letter forwarded to Najeeb Jung, was signed by Delhi Congress President J. P. Agarwal and Party General Secretary Shakeel Ahmed.

"Arvind Kejriwal sent a message that he cannot come today (Thursday) owing to ill-health, but will send some of his party officials to meet Hazare. He is expected to come as soon as he feels better," the aide told IANS.

Speaking a day after senior colleague Prashant Bhushan suggested giving issue-based support to the BJP, Kejriwal said: "Neither we will take support nor give support (to form a government). There is no question."

Kejriwal instead advised the Bharatiya Janata Party, which with 31 seats is the single largest group in the 70-member house, to take power with the help of the Congress, which has eight legislators.

Arvind-KejriwalNew Delhi, Nov 20 : The Election Commission Wednesday said it has sent notice to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal for asking Muslim electors to vote on religious grounds.

Kejriwal has been given till 11 a. m. on Nov 25 to reply as to why action should not be taken against him for violating the model poll code which does not allow appeals to voters on grounds of religion, an Election Commission statement said.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Harish Khurana had complained to the Election Commission about the AAP leader for distributing pamphlets containing appeals on religious grounds.

arvind-kejriwalNew Delhi, Nov 20 : Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal Wednesday denied that the party was misusing Anna Hazare's name during the Delhi assembly poll campaign and charged that there was a conspiracy to mislead the social activist.

"Anna said yesterday (Tuesday) that some people showed him posters with his photo being used for AAP. We told Anna that the posters were not real," said Kejriwal.

"It means fake posters were printed. There is a conspiracy to mislead Anna against us," he said.

'Kejriwal not my enemy': Anna Hazare

Anna-HazareRalegan Siddhi (Maharashtra), Nov 20 : Veteran social activist Anna Hazare on Tuesday said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal was not his enemy.

"I am ready to talk to him. We are not enemies. I wrote to him because I had a few doubts that needed to be clarified," he told media here today

He further revealed that he wrote a letter to Kejriwal to clarify whether his name was being misused by the AAP during its election campaigns.

"He (Kejriwal) said that Anna Hazare's Jan Lokpal Bill would be passed on 29th December. But using my name is wrong," he said.

Arvind-KejriwalNew Delhi, Nov 19 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal today said he has tried several times to speak to the man he calls his "guru," Anna Hazare, but "intermediaries... people in the middle" don't allow him to.

"Intermediaries do not let me talk to Anna Hazare, have tried to talk to him, people in the middle don't allow me," Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal on Monday responded to Hazare's letter regarding misuse of funds collected for the Jan Lokpal Bill, and said that he would withdraw his candidature from the Delhi Assembly elections if there is any discrepancy in AAP accounts.

BJP hiring people to campaign: Kejriwal

Arvind-KejriwalNew Delhi, Nov 18 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is hiring people on a weekly payment of Rs. 5,000 to campaign in New Delhi constituency for the Dec 4 assembly polls, Aam Aadami Party leader Arvind Kejriwal said here Monday.

Kejriwal, who will contest from the constituency, said he did not know who are getting the money.

"This is going on in my constituency. BJP is hiring people for Rs. 5,000," he said.

"When we started door-to-door campaigning (in other constituencies), BJP also decided to campaign. They hired 30 people at the daily wage of Rs. 300 to do their campaigning," he added.
