Arvind-KejriwalNew Delhi, Feb 11 : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said there are a few channels that were directly sponsored by Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, and they could not report against him.

He requested the channels which did not fall under this category to stand up for the public and stop acts of increasing corruption that has resulted in the rise of gas prices.

"We know that there are a few TV channels in the country that are directly sponsored by Mukesh Ambani. We also know that there are few media house owners who themselves own gas wells in the country," said Kejriwal.

Three Delhi discoms move larger high court bench against CAG audit

CAGThree private-sector power distribution companies (discoms) on Friday moved the Delhi High Court after a single judge bench refused to stay audit of their accounts by national auditor CAG.

On January 7, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led government had ordered CAG audit of Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL), Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group firms BSES Rajdhani Power and BSES Yamuna Power. The discoms challenged the order in the high court. But, a single judge bench, on January 24, refused to stall the CAG audit of their accounts and asked them to co-operate with the auditor by furnishing the required details.

AAP named 'corrupt politicians' for four reasons: Kejriwal

Arvind-KejriwalIslamabad, Feb 2 : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in comments published Sunday in a Pakistani newspaper that the AAP targeted "corrupt politicians" for four reasons.

"There are four reasons," Kejriwal was quoted by the Dawn as telling a group of Pakistani journalists who called on him.

"We are against corruption among politicians," he said, listing the reasons.

"We are against their criminalization," he added. "We are against their commercialization. And we are also against dynastic politics."

"I am surprised that a person holding the CM's post is making such allegations against me. Till today, after holding many respectable positions, as a lawyer, or a teacher or in politics, no one has ever named me in any allegations. I am very surprised that he called me corrupt," he said.

KejriwalNew Delhi, Jan 31 : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday read out his list of 'India's most corrupt', and it included high profile politicians from the Congress, the BJP and their allies, and urged his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members to treat this year's general election as a revolution to cleanse the nation's politics.

Kejriwal's list included Congress leaders' Rahul Gandhi, P Chidambaram, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Veerappa Moily, Salman Khurshid, Kapil Sibal, Kamal Nath, BJP leaders Nitin Gadkari, B. S. Yeddyurappa, Anant Kumar, Anurag Thakur, and others like Mayawati, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Sharad Pawar, Farooq Abdullah and Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Kejriwal threatens to cancel power discoms' licence

Arvind-KejriwalNew Delhi, Jan 31 : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Friday warned power distribution companies in the capital to co-operate with the government else their licences will be cancelled.

"Once the Comptroller and Auditor General's (CAG) audit report is out, the power companies have to co-operate in examination of their accounts," Kejriwal told media.

"If they do not, then the government will not keep quiet. If needed, we will also cancel their licences," he said.

Kejriwal pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi

Arvind-KejriwalNew Delhi, Jan 30 : Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and members of the Delhi assembly Thursday paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi on the anniversary of his assassination.

Kejriwal and Speaker M. S. Dhir paid floral tributes at Gandhi's statute at the assembly complex at the Old Secretariat.

Law Minister Somnath Bharti, Women and Child Development Minister Rakhi Birla and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Harsh Vardhan also paid floral tributes.

Artists from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya recited Gandhi's favourite bhajans on the occasion and a two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the apostle of non-violence.

'Jan Lokpal Bill will be passed at Ramlila Maidan'

Arvind-KejriwalNew Delhi, Jan 25 : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said Saturday that the Jan Lokpal Bill is almost ready, and will be passed next month in a special session of the state assembly at Ramlila Maidan, in the heart of Delhi, amidst the people.

"Corruption is the biggest issue for our government. We have to fight corruption. The Jan Lokpal Bill is almost ready and in the month of February we will have a special Delhi assembly session at Ramlila Maidan, and in the midst of people the bill will be passed," Kejriwal said, addressing celebrations on the eve of Republic Day at Chhatrasal stadium here.

"Delhi is our capital. And he is the chief minister of that state. He has no understanding, and he is protesting against the transfer or suspension of police officials, especially when we have preparations of Republic Day going on. He is taking law in his own hands. This only means that he has no faith or trust in the Indian law," he said.

New anti-corruption officers soon: Kejriwal

arvind-kejriwalNew Delhi, Jan 18 : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Saturday said that the Delhi government will soon appoint new anti-corruption officers to investigate all graft cases against the previous government.

"I have talked to the Lt Governor regarding the removal of the some of the anti-corruption officers appointed by the previous government", Kejriwal said in an interview to TV news channel CNN-IBN.

He said that new officers will be appointed by his government after watching their records, so that they work with honesty in investigating corruption cases without being biased towards any political party.

Kejriwal said the current scenario suggests that the Congress would be totally wiped off the political space due to the corruption scams associated with its government of 15 years, which has led to anti-incumbency.

This is the third promise of the Aam Aadmi Party to be fulfilled, after the decision of free supply of over 650 litres of water to each household, and the halving of electricity charges for those using up to 400 units a month.

"I am not contesting the Lok Sabha elections," Kejriwal told mediapersons.

The rresponse came after a senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Yogendra Yadav, earlier in the day said he wanted to see Kejriwal as the prime minister of the country.

Kejriwal said Yadav's statement was out of love for him.

Kejriwal meets CAG, discusses possible audit of power discoms

arvind-kejriwalNew Delhi, Dec 31 : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Shashi Kant Sharma on Tuesday and is reported to have discussed ways to go about auditing the finances of the three private power distribution companies that supply power across the national capital.

Though a final decision is to be taken by the Delhi Cabinet on the issue later this evening, Kejriwal is reported to have given the power discoms less than 24 hours to state in writing why they should or should not be audited.

Kejriwal unwell, not to attend office Monday

Arvind KejriwalNew Delhi, Dec 30 : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will not attend office Monday as he is not well and has been advised rest.

"Running 102 fever since yesterday. Severe loose motions. Sad that i won't be able to attend office today," Kejriwal tweeted Monday.

"It was so important to attend office today (Monday). We had planned the water announcement. God, bahut galat time par bimaar kiya (God, you made me fall ill at a wrong time)," he said.

His family doctor Vipin Mittal told reporters that he has diarrhoea and has been advised rest.

"The CM has shared his vision with me and we have the same vision that women should feel safe in Delhi which is the priority. Other issues will be discussed later," said Bassi.

"I have given some details and have had a discussed. We want to give a clean Delhi to people," he said.
