Panasonic India launches two tablets

Panasonic India launches two tabletsPanasonic India has announced the launch of two new tablets in the Indian market aimed at business customers in order to compete better with its rivals in the country.

The company launched the first Windows 8 business-grade ruggedized tablet in the world called Toughpad FZ-G1 and an Android powered tablet called, ToughpadJT-B1. The Toughpad FZ-G1 tablet computer comes with Windows 8 Pro 64-bit and the users will have the option to downgrade to Windows 7. It is powered by third-generation Intel Core i5 processor clocked at 2.9Ghz and features a 10.1-inch HD screen allowing 10-finger multitouch. The Toughpad FZ-G1 tablet computer is priced at a cool Rs 1,75,000.

On the other hand, the Toughpad JT-B1 tablet computer will be powered by 1.5GHz Texas Instruments OMAP4460 processor and run on Android 4.0. The computer comes with 16GB flash space and 1GB RAM. The Toughpad JT-B1 tablet computer will come with a price tag of Rs 69,000 in the country. The tablets are aimed at those working in challenging environments in industries including military, healthcare, automotive, aviation, telecom, public safety, construction  utility, retail, manufacturing.

Manish Sharma, Managing Director, Panasonic India, said, "Having done extremely well in the consumer business, Panasonic India now has a renewed focus on the B2B and B2G business. Today's launch of mobile computing devices is a significant stepping stone towards our aim of doubling the contribution of B2B segment to Panasonic's overall revenue by 2015."

The company also announced the launch of new personal computers called, Toughbook JT-H300HT and Toughbook JT-H320HT.
