`Leopard' Warney can't change his spots, says his wife Simone

Sept.25: The war of words between former Australian leg spinner Shane Warne and his estranged wife Simone show no signs of abating.

A day after Warne accused Simone of taking advantage of his hard-earned fame to malign him through their personnel differences, Simone described her ex-husband as a "leopard who couldn't change his spots".

According to The Daily Telegraph, relations between Shane and Simone have deteriorated into verbal warfare over his latest alleged new text messaging affair scandal.

Case registered against VHP leader Vedanti over ‘fatwa’ row

Chennai, Sept. 25: A case has been registered against Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Ram Vilas Vedanti, who allegedly issued a ‘fatwa’ against Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief M Karunanidhi.

The case was filed last night on a complaint by a city resident, Dhananchezhian.

Vendanti has been charged for "promoting enmity between various communities, committing acts prejudicial to maintaining communal harmony and making statement conducive to public mischief," police said.

Current flu vaccine not effective in preventing influenza among elderly

London, Sept 25: UK’s National Health Services scientists have revealed that available influenza jabs have not done enough to prevent flu among the elderly.

In an article published in the October issue of The Lancet Infectious Diseases, they describe how sources of bias in other, non-randomized studies have exaggerated the flu vaccine’s value in preventing flu deaths among those over 70.

The authors also say that a less-than-ideal flu vaccine is beneficial than no vaccine at all.
