Next stop Bihar for peripatetic Rahul

Next stop Bihar for peripatetic RahulPatna, Jan 5 - Hoping to revive the Congress in Bihar, general secretary Rahul Gandhi will next week launch a month-long membership drive to attract the youth in the state to the party.

Gandhi, who has been criss-crossing the country to strengthen the youth wings of the party, the Youth Congress and the National Students Union of India, will launch the membership drive with 40 young party MPs and central ministers on Jan 12.

"Rahul Gandhi along with his young brigade will launch youth Congress membership drive simultaneously in all districts of Bihar," state Congress president Anil Sharma told IANS.

"It will be a turning point for revival of the Congress in Bihar," Sharma said.

In his view, Rahul Gandhi's visit would give a fillip to the party ahead of the state assembly polls in November.

The Congress has announced that it would go it alone in the assembly polls. (IANS)
