Mumbai ranked among dirtiest cities on planet, surveyIndia’s fast paced financial capital Mumbai has been voted among the world’s dirtiest cities in a new international survey of cities.

The TripAdvisor's Cities Survey, which involved 40 key tourist cities, said that Japan’s maga capital city, Tokyo was voted the cleanest city on the planet while Mumbai was voted as the dirtiest city in the ‘cleanest streets’ category.

Mumbai also ranked at the last position in the ‘ease of getting around’ category while Switzerland’s Zurich took the first position in the category, the company said in a press release. The survey also found the city with lease friend locals is Russia’s capital, Moscow. Moscow ranked last in several categories including ‘friendliest locals’ in the survey.

New York City took the top spot for shopping but it ranked 28 on the cleanest cities category. Brooke Ferencsik, director of communications of TripAdvisor said that New York’s reputation of being a shopping capital was reinforced in the survey. London was fourth behind New York, Bangkok and Dubai for shopping but only above Moscow for friendly locals.

The survey analyzed how locals as well as tourists viewed 40 tourist destinations around the world.
