Louis van Gaal says `pointless` to step into technical area during matches

Louis van GaalLondon, Dec 26 : Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal believes that it is a pointless exercise to venture into the technical area during matches as noise from the crowd overpowers one's voice on the ground.

Van Gaal said that he doesn't see that he could have any influence when he was standing there shouting from the sidelines, adding that he prefers staying on the bench as players couldn't understand or hear one because of the noise from the crowd, the Daily Express reported.

According to Van Gaal, players have been trained and educated to read the game by themselves.

Correspondingly, he believes he could have no influence on the referee as he had tried all that at Ajax and had learned over the years to be quieter. (ANI)
