Karnataka people are fed up with both Congress, BJP: Kejriwal

Arvind-Kejriwal_Bangalore, Mar. 16 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday organized a road show in Bangalore and said the people of the state are fed up with both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

"The people here are fed up with both the Congress and the BJP. Both the parties have indulged in corrupt practices in the state. The people of Delhi had uprooted both these parties in the recent assembly elections. They had elected an honest government," Kejirwal said.

"Earlier, we didn't have an alternative to these two parties. But today, you have an option to choose an honest party," he added.

Kejriwal paid homage to Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was martyred in the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

He also accused the Union Petroleum Minister Veerappa Moily of colluding with the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) to hike the gas prices, which will come into effect from April 1.

"The hike in gas prices will lead to price rise in the country. This all will happen because of Veerappa Moily. I appeal to all of you not to elect such leaders ever again," he added.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal evaded questions on whether he would contest the Lok Sabha polls from Varanasi, from where the BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will be contesting.

Kejriwal has been touring various states of India to garner support amongst people as AAP is trying hard to confirm their position in the run-up to 2014 polls.

The last time he visited Gujarat was with the criticizing Modi's developmental model for the region.

Kejriwal also accused media on being paid heavily to promote Modi and demanded probe and severe punishment for those involved in 'yellow journalism'. (ANI)
