Kalam urges Indians to read books to facilitate ''knowledge revolution’New Delhi, Aug. 12 : Former President A P J Abdul Kalam has said that reading ''quality books'' would lead to a ''knowledge revolution'' in India, and to facilitate that one should spend at least an hour daily for reading books.

Addressing a book festival organised by the ''Makkal Sindhanai Peravai'' (People''s Thinkers Forum) on Tuesday, he urged parents to start a mini library in every house so that the great habit of reading can be inculcated in children.

“Reading of books would reform a person and help him or her to lead a proper disciplined life,” he said, adding that character building would happen by reading books.

“Books are my best companion and helps me a lot in developing himself to become a scientist. Book reading will help the society as a whole and instead of wasting their time, men and women, youth and children should spend at least an hour to read books daily,” Kalam said. (ANI)
