London, July 18 : Former England fast-bowler Angus Fraser has claimed that Australian bowling spearhead Mitchell Johnson is low on confidence, struggling for form and out of ideas in his first outing at Lord''s.

"To me, he (Johnson) seemed short of confidence. His body language was that of a bowler that is, not at his wits'' end, but is struggling and not quite sure what to do. I know he is a big-hearted cricketer who competes all day long, but it''s almost an acceptance sometimes that, ''I am bowling badly and I''m not 100 per cent sure what I need to do to correct it at this point in time''," The Age quoted Fraser, as saying.

Fraser claimed that the 2.5 metres slope at Lord's could mess with bowlers'' thinking.

He also said that the unfamiliar conditions were only partly responsible for Johnson''s troubles, which were there for all to witness in his wild deliveries and slumping body language as he returned 3-132 from 21.4 overs.

"They will have taken some advice from people who have played there before, no doubt, but it''s not until you get out there yourself that you really appreciate what it''s like," Fraser said.

"It does create a new set of problems that you don''t fully anticipate until you get out there. I don''t know whether that is the real reason why Australia struggled, I just think Mitchell Johnson is struggling at the moment," he added. (ANI)
