Tokyo, Jan 30 : Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida and South Korean Ambassador to Japan Shin Kak-soo met Wednesday and agreed to work closely to urge the Democratic People ''s Republic of Korea
(DPRK) not to carry out nuclear test, Japan''s Foreign Ministry said.

Kishida said in the meeting that it is necessary for Japan and South Korea to work together to dissuade the DPRK from carrying out its third nuclear test.

Shin said South Korea will cooperate with Japan and the United States to urge the DPRK drop its nuclear test plan.

As to bilateral relations, Kishida said the Japanese government attaches importance to the bilateral relations and is willing to build a future-oriented relationship with South Korea through an overall perspective.

Shin said his country is also willing to improve bilateral relations.

The DPRK on Jan. 24 said that it will carry out more rocket launches and a higher-level nuclear test after the UN Security Council approved a resolution condemning a rocket launch by the DPRK last December. (ANI)
