India’s Missile Man Concerned about Diabetes ComplicationsGiving a sigh of relief for all the diabetic kid and their parents, former President APJ Abdul Kalam, popularly known as India’s missile man, has recently made a very motivating claim.

According to him, if a child is suffering from overweight disorder, his parents should not panic because the kid is only suffering a food disorder, which is certainly treatable.

However, all these claims were made on the occasion of a diabetic awareness program organized by the by Novo Nordisk Education Foundation.

Speaking on the occasion, he further asserted that the country’s health data has revealed that one in every 20 people in rural area suffered from diabetic complications but in urban areas one in every six people became the disease sufferers.

Meanwhile, he continued to speak on the issue and, accounted that the complicated lifestyle modifications were the chief reason behind the increased diabetic problems among the metropolitan residents.

In the meantime, he also circulated several health kits among the audience and the delegates. The kit contained a glucometer, an insulin syringe and diabetic guidance brochures.

The State Health Secretary, Dr. EV Ramana Reddy said, “The government had launched a pilot project of diabetes screening sometime ago and it was revealed that 14% of the population screened in the urban slums were diabetic”.
