Hockey girls set to fly for U-18 Asia CupThe confident members of under-18 girl Indian hockey team have been set to leave for the Under-18 Asia Cup, which will be held at Shanghai, China from July 20 to 26.

On Friday morning, Indian team departed from the SAI Sub-Centre at Lucknow to Delhi from where they will flew to Shanghai on Saturday.

Total seven teams have been participating in the tournament, and India has been placed with China, Sri Lanka and Thailand in the Pool ‘A’, while Pakistan, South Korea and Japan have been placed in the Pool ‘B’.

Indian team’s chief coach GS Bhangu said he has been confident to make into the semifinals of the tournament and the girls have potential to do it.

The Indian team includes only three international players - Captain Amubi Devi, Sunita Lakra and Sushila Chanu but the skipper Amubi has been sure to bet for the gold medal.

India will start their campaign in the Under-18 Asia Cup with the match against Sri Lankan girls.
