HCL unveils new ‘ME’, priced at Rs.41,500

hclHCL has come up with a new version of its 'ME'. The latest version is Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) free notebooks. It would be priced at the high-end and would be available at Rs. 41,500. This is the first of its kind in India.

The company has made this range because it is a part of its plans to make environment-friendly laptops. This ME-40, as is named, would later become a part of the ME-45 series, which too is PVC free.

The ME-40 series has 2.2 GHZIntel Core 2 Duo T6600processor and is totally made with eco-friendly components and materials. It has a screen with statistics of 15.4-inch WXGA TFT LCD and allows 1280x800 Native resolution to be seen on it. Its DDR2RAM has the capacity of up to 4GB and the operating system is Windows 7 Professional.

Besides this, the battery life is up to five hours and has four USB ports with Bluetooth. It also comes with a 1.3 megapixel webcam and has 4-in-1 card reader.

The company is also planning to come up with One Touch Support features and One Touch recovery services later on.

The components in the laptop are totally recyclable.
