Gmail faced outage this morning

Gmail faced outage this morningSeveral users of Google's popular email service, Gmail took to the social media to express their anger over their inability to access their email accounts this morning in India.

Many users in India, UAE and other Asian countries say that the service remained down for more than an hour this morning. Several wrote on social micro blogging site that they received 502 error message while trying to access their Gmail accounts in the morning of 2 May, 2013.

Google had not commented on the matter on its official communication channels in the morning. Some reports suggest that the reason for the service disruption may have been a power outage in Gurgaon in the NCR region. The error message 502 generally appears when there is a poor IP communication between servers. Google services have been affected before but this is the first time that several services were disrupted.

Google have updated their Google Apps Status Dashboard saying "The problem with Google Mail should be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better."

The service has resumed and is now accessible to the users around the world.
