Game-centric Wikipad tablet hit by delay on October 31 launch day

Game-centric Wikipad tablet hit by delay on October 31 launch dayThe scheduled October 31 launch of the game-centric Wikipad Android tablet has been delayed indefinitely by the developers, apparently for making some final changes to the Wikipad bundle which will be offered at the tablet's release.

Going by earlier reports, the Wikipad tablet - which boasts a 10.1-inch 1280x800 screen, a 1.4 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, and 1GB of RAM - was scheduled to make its debut at GameStop on October 31. However, the developers of the tablet recently issued a statement which said that the launch of the device has been pushed back, but did not make any mention of its new launch date.

Highlighting the unrelenting efforts of the Wikipad team in working with manufacturers as well as for perfecting the Wikipad bundle, the developers said in a statement that the delay in the launch of the tablet underscored their attempts to ensure that their first device turns out to be "the best tablet and entertainment experience at launch."

Further adding that "there is a last minute opportunity to enhance the Wikipad bundle," the developers said that the tablet required a "minor refinement" for making sure that the "first customers are completely satisfied with the Wikipad."

According to the information shared by the Wikipad team, the retailers have been notified of the delay in Wikipad's launch; and customers who pre-ordered the tablet will be shipped the "refined and updated bundles," along with a "special bonus gift" as a compensation for the delay.
