An auditor of the Foxconn Technology Group has claimed that the company, which is the largest producer of Apple devices, is in violation of the Chinese labor laws.

Responding to the latest claims, Foxconn decided to reduce working hours and give employees more oversight at the facilities. The monitoring group said that the investigators found at least 50 breaches of Chinese maws by the company. It was interesting also found in violation of a code of conduct that was signed with Apple.

Foxconn announced that the working hours will be reduce to stay within legal limits by July 2013 and that the company will compensate more than 1.2 million employees, who have lost extra income due to working over time.

A report in The New York Times had claimed the workers assembling iPhones, iPads and other devices for Apple face harsh conditions and work excessive overtime at factories in China. The repot also said that two explosions killed 4 people and injured 77 last year. Apple chief executive Tim Cook said that the company is concerned about each worker in the worldwide supply claim and added that all accidents are troubling.

Meanwhile, Mr. Cook visited the newly built Foxconn Zhengzhou Technology Park in Zhengzhou, China while on a visit to the country. The facility provides employment to 120,000 people, according Carolyn Wu, a Apple spokeswoman based in the Chinese capital, Beijing.
