Facebook removes option to exclude name in search option

Facebook removes option to exclude name in search optionSocial networking giant, Facebook has removed a feature that allowed users to exclude their names from the search option on the social network.

Facebook is removing the setting and has informed those who have hidden their names that they will now be searchable by the users. The "Who can look up your Timeline by name?" feature also created confusion as users were still able to reach the profile page through alternative ways like clicking the name on a photo with a tag or finding your name in a friend's friend list, etc.

The Graph Search has also boosted the ways in which the users can lead to a profile. Experts have said that feature had created confusion among the customers. Facebook might be taking a right step by removing the feature but there is a need for a strong universal privacy tool to protect the users on the world's largest social networking site.

Facebook provides a quick way to restrict the visibility of all your old News Feed posts and each of the section in personal information can be assigned a different visibility. Facebook advises its users to block users in order to prevent them from accessing personal information. The social network announced in December that it will remove the option for users to control but now said that it will notify the users who use it to inform them that the feature has been removed.
