London, Jan 23 : Facebook's Chief Operating Officer, Sheryl Sandberg, has reportedly become part of the female billionaires around the globe, after her stake in the company valued 750 million dollars.

The 44-year-old COO owns about 12.3 million shares of the company and after the social networking giant's stock closed record high on Tuesday, Sandberg became one of the youngest female billionaires in the world.

According to the Independent, last year, there were 138 women with a 10-figure fortune, up from 104 in 2012m but women still accounted for fewer than 10 percent of the world's richest.

Women billionaires who have inherited the big money are L'Oreal heir Liliane Bettencourt, worth 30billion dollars and Christy and Alice Walton from Walmart dynasty, worth 28.5billion dollars and 26.3billion dollars respectively.

Self-made women billionaires include a former-seamstress, Rosalia Mera, whose company Inditex is best known for owning Zara.

Meanwhile, women who have made their billions through fashion, include New Yorker Tory Burch, and 42-year-old Sara Blakely, who in 2012 became the youngest self-made female billionaire thanks to Spanx, her bone-crushing underwear range.

Oprah Winfrey, worth 2.9 billion dollars, is the sole African-American billionaire and has been named as the richest black woman in the world by the Nigerian oil tycoon Folorunsho Alakija, the report added. (ANI)
