Eurostar recovers after snow fiasco

EurostarThe rail link of the country Eurostar has reported to back in track. It has managed to recover from the major snow debacle in the month of January and has produced some impressive sales figure.

The massive snowfall had affected the high-speed rail link hugely and the firm has produced very low sales in the first quarter of the year. Now the travelers are returning to avail the rail service and sales of Eurostar tickets have gained momentum.

The company has informed that its sales have been raised to £178 million with around 2 million passengers travelling. It was almost a growth of 5.9% from the same period last year. The company has also anticipated carrying 10 million passengers by the end of 2010.

Eurostar operates its trains between London and Paris and Brussels. The quarter has seen an impressive hike of 22% of travelers who were from outside Europe. The holiday market has also improved by 6% as compared to the business travel in these three months. The number of leisure passengers has been 1.76million which was 1.65 million a year ago.
