Budapest  - Felipe Massa will return to his native Brazil on Monday, his personal physician revealed Friday at the AEK military hospital in Budapest where the Ferrari driver is recovering from his crash last weekend during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Doctor Dino Altmann said the 28-year-old Formula One driver was "in a good mood and good condition" as he continues his recovery from the accident which left him with multiple skull fractures and a concussion.

Altmann was unable to say how long it would take Massa to recover completely from the accident. His place in the Ferrari cockpit for the European GP in Valencia on August 23 will be taken by former Ferrari driver and seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher. (dpa)
