Djokovic says already feels No. 1 after becoming dad ahead of return to action

Novak DjokovicLondon, Oct 28 - Serbian tennis ace Novak Djokovic has said that he is not concerned about his number one ranking as he feels like he is already number one becoming a father last week, ahead of his return to action at the Paris Masters on Tuesday.

Djokovic would play his first match at the Paris Masters on Tuesday since wife Jelena Ristic gave birth to son Stefan. He will face Philipp Kohlschreiber as his first opponent since he lost to world number two Roger Federer in Shanghai earlier this month.

Djokovic said that he feels like he is already number one becoming a father last week, The BBC reported.

It is the defending champion's first indoor tournament of the season as the players prepare for the ATP World Tour Finals in London in November. Federer is just 490 points behind Djokovic in the ATP world rankings, with the winner in Paris receiving 1,000 points.

The Serb said that he never thought that Federer is not a competition for number one of the world, adding that he always thought that the Swiss is one of the best players in the world, and he keeps on proving everybody that he deserves to be there.

He said that he has lots of respect for what Federer does and does not think that age is an issue for the Swiss.

Federer also said that for him, its important to participate in his child's life as much as he can, in his development, in his growing up, in his childhood. He said that he hopes that it's going to affect positively on his career, adding that in terms of his approach to tennis nothing is really changing. (ANI)
