De-seal mobile towers in Noida: Lucknow HC

mobile-towersDisposing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition filed by Indus Towers Company, a bench of the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court comprising Justice Pradeep Kant and Rituraj Awasthi, has ordered UP government and the Noida Development Authority to open the seal of over 100 mobile towers immediately.

The development brings a relief for the customers and service providers who were facing network problems due to such sealing in the NCR town which falls under Delhi telecom circle.

Meanwhile, the court also directed the petitioner to approach the Noida Development Authority for resolving issues with the installations of towers and to complete the paper formalities associated with installing towers in the non-commercial areas.

Noida Development Authority had earlier sealed towers claiming that that these are installed by compromising the rules of the land. Towers as per norms, cannot be installed in the residential areas added the civic authority claiming its adverse impact over the health of population.

The court will take up the matter after six weeks in the next hearing.
