Delhi Metro sets new record with 1.1 million passengersThe Delhi Metro has set a new record with 1.1 million passengers. It has announced that on Wednesday it has carried a record number of 10,92,780 passengers. Delhi Metro spokesman Anuj Dayal has informed that it has been another milestone of Delhi Metro. It has recorded its highest ever ridership figures in a day.

The number of passengers travelled on the system was nearly 11 lakh (1.1 million). Earlier on 19th of April, 10,58,664 peoples have travelled in Delhi Metro. But now it has surpassed the figure. Delhi Metro has been the most popular mass transit network connecting various parts of Delhi.

On Wednesday, the metro's line 3 has recorded the highest footfall at 463,523 passengers followed by line 2. The line 3 is connected to Dwarka Sector 9 to Noida City Centre while the line 2 is connected to Central Secretariat from Jehangirpuri, while the line 1 from Rithala to Dilshad Garden has also reasonable number of travelers.

Dayal has also informed that the total ridership of the Delhi Metro had been time and again crossing the 1 million mark after the inauguration of the Inderlok-Mundka corridor in 2nd of April this year.
