Common interests of India and China outweighs disputes: ChinaIndian and China should look to the future and try to boost trust as their common interests far outweighs disputes, China's Foreign Ministry said.

When asked to comment on the 50th anniversary of Indo-China war, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei said that China was ready to work in cooperation with India in the spirit of looking forward.

Lei called on governments of both countries to enhance communication and deepen strategic cooperative partnership for the benefit of people of both countries.

Speaking on the topic, he added, "The two countries are cooperating partners, instead of rivals. Their common ground far outweighs disputes, and common interests outnumber conflicts."

Lei added that China believed that the world has sufficient space for the common development of both India and China.

State-run Global Times recent said the India and China should become inseparable strategic partners and overcome the big damage inflicted by 1962 war.

India has recently honoured the martyrs of the Indo-China war, while China has been largely quiet on the war. The topic of China's war with Japan remained a common topic for China's state-run media, mainly in light of recent tensions between the two countries; but the state-run outlets avoided to make comments on either the 1962 war with India.
