Clean your PC's fans to combat overheating

Clean your PC's fans to combat overheatingMunich  - PC users should clean out the fans on their computers before the summer really heats up. The dust that collects on the fans over time can reduce their effectiveness in cooling, leading to computer crashes from overheating.

The easiest option is to simply vacuum the dust away from areas like the air intake grille on the rear of the PC, reports Munich- based Gamestar magazine. The vacuum head shouldn't be held too close to the fans, however. Otherwise, the rotor bearings could be damaged. (dpa)
