CEO Narayana Murthy’s Professional Voyage with Infosys Ends TodayNR Narayana Murthy, with its six co-founders, started Infosys in a 10x10 room with an investment of just Rs 10,000 and that too was borrowed from his wife, Sudha Murthy. The company that got started in Pune in 1981 with said amount has increased its revenue to Rs. 27000 crore.

Everything kept on increasing, profits, share, employees, standings, but the person who head the company and held it like his baby would step down from his post of CEO. His place would be taken by the KV Kamath, an Independent Director in Infosys.

It’s not that his role would end in the company; his guidance would be taken when needed. He will be known as Chairman Emeritus. And, would have a room for him in the office but as far as official matters are concerned, he would have no said in any matter neither he could attend any board meetings. But he can meet anybody personally whenever he wants, said Murthi.

Farewell party would be given to Murthi at Infosys Bangalore, which would be attended by his family members and by all co-founders and prominent former employees.

Many promotions has taken place with Kamath, SD Sibul would take as the new CEO and also the MD and S Gopalakrishnan would take as a Executive Co-Chairman of Infosys. Kris Gopalakrishnan, current CEO of Infosys would be elevated as the Executive Co Chairman.
