Broad remains tight-lipped over fitness for Boxing Day Test

Stuart BroadSydney, Dec 20 - England bowler Stuart Broad has reportedly remained tight-lipped over the doubt surrounding his participation in the remainder of the Ashes series after he was struck on the foot by a vicious Mitchell Johnson yorker during the third Ashes Test in Perth.

Broad was rushed to the hospital for scans and unable to bowl for the second half of the WACA Test after the injury, which saw him given out LBW, although he came out to bat late in the match as England spiralled towards defeat, giving hope that his foot would heal in time to take part in the Boxing Day Test.

However, News. com. au reports that Broad remained evasive over questions on his fitness, and just said that although it is too early to say anything, he is hoping to be fit for the Boxing Day Test.

The report mentioned that Broad, who has been England's best-performed bowler in the Ashes series thus far and picked up 14 wickets at an average of 25.21, is likely to be replaced by one of England's giant pace trio of Chris Tremlett, Steve Finn and Boyd Rankin if he is not fit in time for the fourth Test.
