London, Sept 2: The Jaguar XF has been crowned the best car of the decade by a British car news magazine.

The Jaguar's British-built XF model scored 91 per cent in the poll of 300,000 readers of Auto Express magazine, The Sun reports.

The sporty executive saloon, which costs up to 64,000 pounds, topped a survey of motors'' ten main points, including reliability and performance, the report said.

Among other aspects readers voted on were the quality of build, running costs and comfort.

Delighted Jaguar bosses stopped production at the plant to receive the award, with chief Dr Ralf Speth saying: "It''s a tremendous achievement."

Graham Hope, acting editor of Auto Express, said: "The XF is a thoroughly deserving winner of our award."

Lexus was voted manufacturer of the decade, while Hyundai picked up the award for the most improved maker, the report added. (ANI)
