Becks planning to build stadium for Major League Soccer team in Miami

David BeckhamLondon, Dec 2 - England football legend David Beckham is planning to build a stadium for his new Major League Soccer team in Miami's dock area.

According to the Daily Star, just like English Championship side Millwall, whose support was once drawn from London dockers, Becks is hoping the 176,000-plus workers at Port Miami will become instant fans of his MLS team.

He and his backers have asked for permission to launch the club on the city's man-made Dodge Island, the report said.

The island contains the world's biggest cruise ship port, the report added.

Until the new home of 38-year-old Beckham's dream team is built, the club is likely to play at the nearby 75,000-capacity Sun Life Stadium owned by the Miami Dolphins American Football franchise, the report further said. (ANI)
