Lincoln introduces Model L100 EV Concept – a futuristic AV with high digital connectivity

Lincoln Model L100 EV Concept
Lincoln, the luxury vehicle division of American automobile manufacturer Ford Motor Company, has provided a peep into the future of premium driving solutions with its new Model L100 EV concept.
Released to pay tribute to the 1922 Model L (the company’s first luxury vehicle ever made), the L100 EV concept has been designed to take luxury driving experience to a new height. If this model goes into production, it will be an autonomous vehicle (AV) with a special focus on digital connectivity.
According to information released by the luxury brand, the L100 EV concept will utilize next-generation battery cell & pack technology to offer a longer range while also ensuring a shorter charging time.
The interior of the vehicle will include an interactive jewel-inspired chess piece controller on the center console. The jewel will replace the steering wheel to offer an intuitive as well as effortless driving experience.
The interior will also include intuitive lighting and a digital floor that can be adjusted by users for a custom experience. Luxurious animal-free materials have been used to create the interior of the vehicle. Seats in the front row will have swivel capabilities for connecting friend seat passengers with rear seat passengers. In short, the entire interior has been designed to provide an immersive, connected experience.
The exterior of the future EV will include frosted acrylic instead of chrome with metallic paint. The concept has a cool feature – when you walk toward the vehicle, it can sense your presence and lights up as you walk around it.
Lincoln President Joy Falotico said, “Over the last 100 years, Lincoln has pioneered multiple innovations and pushed the boundaries of design that have come to define our brand as we know and love it today. With the Model L100 Concept, we re-imagine what the Lincoln sanctuary might look like for our clients of tomorrow moving us forward to define the next chapter of the Lincoln story.
Lincoln has ambitious plans for an electrified future, but it, at least for the time being, is falling far behind many of its rivals in the premium car segment. Accelerating its pace of transition from ICEs to EVs, the brand revealed its first EV concept, the Lincoln Star EV SUV, in April this year. At that time, it also set an ambitious goal to generate at least 50% of its global volume through EVs by 2025.
