Aehra, an electric car startup headquartered in Milan, has announced that its unnamed low-slung “ultra premium” electric SUV will hit the roads sometime in 2025. The very first Aehra vehicle – a curvaceous electric SUV – boasts a dramatic design that will set it apart from any other SUV present in the market, with a tapered shape and doors that open up. Its low-slung look and other design features make it actually pretty sporty SUV.

As per available information, the first electric SUV of Aehra will sit on a 3-meter (roughly 118-inch) platform – the same as a Lamborghini Urus or Lotus Eletre. It will feature a supercar-like body that will help in keeping its weight low. The company will use a mono-body construction, which is usually used for supercars only.

Filippo Perini, car design chief at Aehra, said, “We have shunned the conservative constraints that have encumbered all other car manufacturers in their approach to designing EV vehicles to date. Instead, we have taken a highly courageous approach.”

The senior executive went on to state that the very first vehicle of the comparatively new brand will go far beyond the conventional standards set by the automotive industry for an electric SUV. He stressed that the brand’s e-SUV will set new benchmarks in terms of style and comfort.

So-called Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has been used to create the electric SUV’s shape, which boasts excellent aerodynamic efficiency. Nothing has been revealed about technical specs, such as the drag coefficient of the vehicle. Thus, we currently don’t know how quick the electric SUV will be, and how big its battery pack will be.

The estimated price of the ultra premium electric SUV has also been kept secret thus far, but the Italian startup is reportedly targeting the make and sell the most expensive SUV in the world with deliveries to customers are scheduled to start by the mid of current decade. All we know is that the Italian EV startup wants to commence deliveries of its first electric model in 2025, and that it will target important markets like Europe, North America, China and the Middle East. The second electric model, a sporty electric sedan, is expected to be announced as soon as February of next year. Both EVs will likely go on sale at around the same time. The company has set an aim to sell 20,000 to 25,000 of each model annually around the globe.
