Peugeot, French automotive brand owned by Stellantis, has unveiled a tweaked version of the electric e-2008 variant that has already been confirmed for markets like Australia and some European countries. To enhance the 2024 Peugeot 2008 subcompact crossover SUV, tweaks have been made to the LED taillights by using three superimposed horizontal double slats. The new version’s turn signals as well as reversing lights are also of the LED variety. Other notable features on the outside include 16-inch to 18-inch wheels resembling those offered for the 408. While Selenium Grey represents the launch edition, the GT will be made available in a two-tone paint with a striking black roof coming as standard. However, all 2008 EVs will feature black side mirror caps.

The interior of the all 2024 Peugeot 2008 crossover SUV features a 10-inch touchscreen, while the pre-facelift model’s first two trims used to feature a smaller 7-inch display. The Allure or GT variants feature a freshly designed 10-inch digital instrument cluster, which on the GT variant also comes with a 3D effect. However, the base Active and the small crossover features traditional analog dials. Versions of the vehicle that feature the manual gearbox have received a reshaped shift knob.

The list of bigger changes that have occurred under the hood includes the pure electric E-2008’s extra power and range. Inheriting the hardware from the E-208 and E-308, the electric motor of this variant is good enough for 156 horsepower (115 kW). The given horsepower figure represents an increase of 15 per cent. The battery pack capacity has been increased from 50 kWh to 54 kWh, which has boosted the WLTP driving range in the combined cycle from 345 km to 406 km (roughly 214 to 252 miles).

For the next year, the company has plans to grow the powertrain lineup by launching a new hybrid model that will come equipped with a 136-hp gasoline engine, which will be mated to a 6-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission incorporating an electric motor (e-motor).

As crossovers in the B-segment is one of the most popular segments in the automobile market, it is but natural for Peugeot to ensure that its 2008 subcompact crossover SUV remains fresh as well as competitive to grab a bigger share.

The 2024 Peugeot 2008 is scheduled to go on sale sometime this summer together with the all-electric E-2008 crossover SUV.
