Amway India Eyes Rs 2500 Cr Sales By 2012,

amway logoAmway India Enterprises Limited, country's leading direct selling FMCG company, is making continuous attempts to achieve a sales target of Rs 2,500 crore by the next two years (2012) as compared to Rs 1,407 crore in 2009, reggistering an yearly growth of around 25%.

While talking to reporters, Mr. William S Pinckney, Amway India Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) made this announcement.

Referring to a 'very reasonable' growth in the use of consumer products in the country vis-a-vis to some of its south Asian neighbors, except China, Mr. Pinckney stated that among the most demanding products were those associated to nutrition, health and cosmetics.

He added since the entry of Amway Enterprises in India about 12 years ago, they had introduced as many as 115 products for varied Indian users thus far through a unique direct selling system.

''This has helped to take our business volume from a mere Rs 50 crore in the first few years to Rs 1,407 crore last year,'' he added.

''During the the previous two years, Amway India's total business volume was to the tune of Rs 799 crores (2007) and Rs 1128 crores(2008),'' the MD said. (With Inputs from Agencies)
