Johannesburg, Sep. 26 : As the two arch rivals India and Pakistan prepare themselves for the `match of the tournament' in the ICC Champions Trophy, former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram has warned his home side against showing immaturity during the game.

Akram pointed out that Pakistan would have to be careful in selecting the final eleven for the match, as the Centurion track would hardly offer any assistance to the bowlers.

"Pakistan have to play their cards very carefully as the pitch at the Centurion Park is dry and would offer help to batsmen," said Akram

Regarding playing Mohammad Asif in the crucial tie, Akram said the final decision has to be made by the team management, but underlined that giving Asif a chance would be a great gamble.

"He (Asif) has no international exposure for the last 17 months. Playing him straight away on a pitch that offers no assistance to bowlers would be risky. I do not know how fit and ready he is," The News quoted Akram, as saying.

He said Pakistan can beat India if they play to a proper plan and restrict the Indian batsmen, and that the onus was on the bowlers to help the team register a historic win.

"Gambhir is suffering from a groin problem and that is something that does not go away easily. Any stretching or wrong move could land him in trouble. I think he is not fully fit and would provide Pakistan bowlers an opportunity. It is up to our bowlers and close in fielders to exploit the situation," Akram said. (ANI)
