It is expected that the Twenty 20 Captain of Pakistan Shahid Afridi may lead the team in all three formats of the game. The selectors have not officially announced this, but he is all set to take over the reins of test and ODI side as well.

As per sources, Afridi may lead the team for upcoming Asia Cup and in the tour of England. Afridi along with the team manager Yawas Saeed had a discussion with Chief selector Butt over the upcoming tours. It has been believed that Afridi was offered the captaincy in that meeting.

The all-rounder has developed himself as a proper spin bowler and a skipper for the shortest format of the game during these two years.

Under his captaincy the team had won the Twenty20 World Cup. But his effectiveness in the test matches is yet to be tested. He has not played a test since the mid-2006.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board is yet to formally announce this fact in the media.
